Coming Out is a term used to describe a person who reveals their same sex attraction to friends and family.
For those who are 7 to 11 years of age will have some idea that sharing with your friends that you may be attracted to the same sex is not going to make you the most popular kid in the block.
You will learn as soon as you know to keep it a secret, you will not want anyone to know. You have probably closed that door of your life until you are older.
Coming out to yourself is the first step forward in coming to terms with the news about your sexual orientation.
So at 7 to 11 years of age what should you know about coming out. In schools the subject should tackle why do people hide things from others. The pressure to fit in is more important than acknowledging that you are different.
